  1. (2x - 4) = 3x - 12

    Step 1: Place like term on the same side of the equation. Careful with the signs!

    (2x - 4) = 3x - 12

    2x - 4 = 3x - 12

    12 - 4 = 3x - 2x

    Step 2: Simplify Like terms.

    12 - 4 = 3x - 2x

    8 = x

    x = 8 (<==ANSWER!!)

    Hope I helped!

  2. x = 8.

  3. 2x - 4 = 3x - 12

    Adding 12 -2x to both sides:

    8 = x

  4. Hi There!!

    I used to Struggle With these Q'z Also!!

    But I Found  A Method...

    (2x-4)=3x-12

    So 3x-2x = 1x....O.k?

    And the difference between 12 and 4 is 8(O and btw -4 and -12 are negative (-) numbers so a - No. and a - No. = a + No.).... R u still with me??

    So x=8 !! And thats the Answer

    Also if you have another one of these q's and there is 2x divide the the number By 2!!

  5. A simple method...

    2x-4 = 3x-12

    12-4 = 3x - 2x

    8 = x

    or;

    x=8

    Ans.8

    hope u get it

  6. 2x - 4 = 3x - 12

    Add -3x to each side of the equation

    2x - 3x -4 = +3x - 3x - 12

    -1x - 4 = 0 - 12

    -1x - 4 = -12

    Add 4 to each side of the equation

    -1x - 4 + 4 = -12 + 4

    -1x -0 = -8

    -1x = -8

    Divide each side by -1

    -1x/-1 = x

    -8/-1 = 8

    x = 8

  7. yup, he beat me to it. darn!

    2x-4 = 3x-12

    12-4 = 3x-2x

    8     = x

    therefore x = 8
