He got it about a week ago from 1 day to the next. It's a bit below his shoulder blades to the left of the spine around the size of a large marble and it just moves around so it doesn't seem to be attached directly to his body, just moves around inside his skin. It's really hard but it doesn't seem to hurt him at all when i touch or squeeze it. What could this possibly be? Planning on taking him to the vet soon regardless.

  1. It does sound like a tumor. Tumors do not have to be attached to anything or painful.  My dad's dog had a tumor that was like the one you described accept it gave the dog lots of pain. We found out later when we took her to the vet that it was cancerous and had to put her down.

But the vet did say that animals get tumors more frequent than humans and most cases the tumor can be easily removed without complications to the animal.   I strongly suggest taking the puppy to the vet and see if it can be removed before it grows much bigger and becomes a more severe health risk.

  2. It's really hard to tell anything without an exam. Hes really young for anything serious like cancer. It may be from his last vaccination sometimes it leaves a bump but it usually will go away. It could be sebaceouss cyst or if you have another dog maybe he was playing a bit rough and caused inflammation under the skin?

  4. I'm glad to hear that your taking him to the vet. Apart from that, there's nothing much you can do about it at the moment.
