i know i've asked this question before but i did not mention that the prescription was for contacts...

Ok, i have a -3.25 Diopter for both my eyes (Left & Right) its the prescription on my CONTACT LENSES BOX.

Now, im shopping for OPTICAL goggles online and the choices for Diopter Strength are as follows:

-3.0

-3.5

What should i get? i dont want to ruin my vision by buying a higher prescription goggle.

  1. u shd get sumthing like -2.75. Just nice in the water

  2. contacts usually have to be less ,so -3.5 sounds good. for swimming even -3.0 is enough so it's your decision really. I also plan to buy one but the problem is my eyes are different ,I'm not sure now

  3. I think it would be better to get the lower one. with higher prescription it could be too strong and cause more damage than a weaker one.

but just to be completely safe, ask your optometrist

  4. I covered that...

"If the 3.25 is a contact lens Rx, get the -3.50's."

Ordinary spectacle equivalent  would be liklely to be 3.50 anyway.

But it really isn't critical or even worth worrying about.

    Either would "do" for swimming.
