3/4 ton A/C system how much freon does it take to fill the system?

Does the freon go on the cold side or normal temperature pipe?

  1. Not much. All depends on the system. A 9000 BTU Ac unit (3/4 Ton.) it can't be that big. u should not work on it if u don't have an EPA certificate . With that said.  AC techs can put Refrigerant on both sides , the liquid line and suction line.Keep in mind no liquid should go to suction line only gas. Liquid goes to liquid line only.

It not smart to put it in the liquid line or the small line you can flood the compressor.  The suction line is the big line and this is where you vapor charge the unit.  Yes there is a 3/4 ton unit along with a 1 ton and 2 ton and even 4 ton on up.  How much refrigerant depends on the temp outside for this will define pressure.  Normally a 85 degree day runs at about 65-67 psi.  You shouldn't try to charge the unit with a EPA license by law it can cost you a $10,000 fine and imprisonment. (If you get caught though).
