I have four Alpine SPR-13C coax speakers and i cant find anywhere that tells me what ohm speakers they are. Somone told me that they are 3.6 ohms, but im not sure. Does any one know what ohm they are? If they are 3.6 ohm, can i use a 4ohm amp with them? if not, what amp could i use to power them?

  1. if you buy a rockford fosgate amp most amp will automatically wire it down for you. just connect it to the amp. cause the terminal internally are connected so you wont loose out. but yea you can use a 4ohm amp plus most speaker terminal are connected.

  2. They are 4 ohm, I found them easily

there is no such things as a 4 ohm amp, if you attactch a 4 ohm speaker to an amp, the amp would have a 4 ohm load on it. So any amp within the RMS spec of the speakers is fine.

  3. Alot of your hi end coaxils are 3 ohm instead of 4 ohm you can run a 3.6 ohm on a 4 ohm stable amplifier ,the ohm load fluctuates as music plays through them similar to the way wattage does and that small of a increase will show a minimal  change to the amplifier under normal use.

It is basically done so you can get all you can out of a 4 ohm stable amplifier , the only time you will really see a problem is when super cheap amplifiers are used.
