3 Year Old Birthday Party?

Question

My son Blake is having a birthday soon, we aren't sure what to do, and how big to do it becuase he is so young and will forget, but any ideas?

Its so hard not to get excited about your kids birthdays! I always go all out... but simple. You could make your own cake and buy little inexpensive toys to top the cake with. I did a cowboy theme for my son and found some little cowboy and indian toys and dressed up the cake with them. It cost maybe $6 for me to make a large sheet cake with cowboys and indians. Then when the party is over and everything has been washed he gets more toys! Can't go wrong with balloons! Even punch balloons are fun (outside).

We just had our sons 3 yr old birthday and we over did it. It was nice but it was more of a pain for us than a enjoyment for him. If we could do it over I would say whatever your son likes IE Spiderman / Pirates just let him dress up and do whatever he wants to do with close family or friends and let him eat and do what he wants. The biggest thing is for him to feel special no matter what you do.

Take him to the playland if any near you and then have a small party with a cake and presents.. Nothing very big...

If it's nice weather where you live...just have some of his friends, family, cousins, over....and set up small games in the backyard for them to play...tossing a bean bag..or ? musical chairs....ball?,or take them to the park...slides etc..run around., they can wear b/day hats at home...ballooons, kids cd playing... or take your son with a couple other youngish children to mcdonalds play room* for an hour....

no clowns they freak kids out. i would keep it as easy & memerable for u cuz u have 2 keep the memory alive 4 him for he is too young to remember himself. whatever u do take a billion pictures.

We are having a pirate birthday for my son who is going to be two because he loves skeletons and pirates. We may have one of our friends dress up like a pirate and some of the other kids can dress up for fun. If you take lots of pictures, your son will probably remember.

My grandson just had his 4th birthday at the fire station!  The firemen let the kids climb all over the fire engines & paramedics truck, and there was a room there for him to have his cake in.  They had a pinata on the lawn, with the firemen helping:) ...  Your son is probably crazy about fire engines too.....

Kids love chocolate cake.  He might forget so don't over do it but at least make it a fun party.  It's your call, kid games are always nice.  Or you can be really creative and take the kids to the zoo or something fun like that.
