I am reposting this hoping I can have more answers as im scared

my cat has had kittens, she had 3, one is missing, I havent been in alll day so not sure how long its been missing.

I have searched the house and cannot find it, in her box is the 2 which she feeds, so if she hid it, wouldnt she of moved the others?

I have a cat flap and sometimes a cat comes in, would they of took it? I have another cat which is her mum and she scares cats out so would they of had time?

any ideas?

  1. The mother may have eaten it =(

You're right, there probably would have been blood, but if the kitten was sick or wasn't nursing, the mother may have eaten it.  Sometimes they throw them back up so keep a look out for bones.

Just keep searching your house, the same thing happend to my friend and we ended up finding the kitten under her bed, after we already looked 100 times.

    =( good luck!

  2. I really don't think another cat had taken it. Sometimes, as horrible as it may be, the mother cat will abandon one if she has too many or just does not have enough to feed all of them. If you have a cat flap then more than likely she took it outside and hid it somewhere. I would look as best as you can and listen for a cry outside, of course its going to get hungry and it will start to cry. As long as it was not sick it should still be alive. It defanitely has not been eaten and if the other cat did come in your house your mom cat WILL NOT let it near her babies. Let me know if you find it.

  3. what ever has happened to the kitten, will be something to do with the mother, kittens cant start crawling until 16 days old.so obviously the mom has removed it from the litter because it was a sick cat. if she had taken it  to another place of safety she would have taken them all.

  4. male cats attack kittens that are not their own offspring.

this is in common with lions.

  5. This is not an answer to your question.

I was just wondering if a mother cat will eat a kitten as suggested in the above posts?

  6. I think the girl above me answer is good. Im soo sorry to hear about this! Try looking outside and try to hear meowing. I actually would close off the flap or put the momma cat and babies inside and lock them in a room. Just in case.

Another thing can be the daddy came and took it ): Which I hope not.

My neighboors cat had kittens and we had to hide them  from the dad.

Please please please let me know if you find it.

I know how stressed you probably are.

    Email me about it.
