We have a few days in Valencia coming up. What are the "must see" places. We plan to visit the Oceanographic Centre - any other ideas? Not interested in Lladro factory! Staying just outside the centre in Paterna, but will happily travel into the centre each day if necessary.

  1. Don't forget, the Americas Cup is in Valencia till July.

  2. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and is growing very fast. A part of the traditional Fallas Fiestas right now the Louis Vuitton Cup , the challengers races for the America's Cup, is under way. I believe you can see the races from the port and the Malvarrosa beach. The modern Acropolis of La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is the place to go. The architects Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela are the master of the project. The biggest aquarium is Spain is there and the eye shaped Imax theater. You can spend a day easily there. The historic center is also beautiful with the Mercado, the Cathedral and the Minaret. If you like modern art the IVAM Museum is the place to go.

I love Spain, I visit the city last year.

  3. I have been several times to the Las fallas Fire Festival, and that's the best time to go.

It's a nice place, good fea food paella, nice people, good night life. Plus the beach is good too (not the one by the port tho!)

There should be enough for you to see in 3 days, cathedral, Fallas museum, beach, Oceanographic center, IMAX cinema...

    Philip

  4. I spent a week once in Valencia and it was during Fallas, the town was stimulating, great food, friendly people.

    I would go back

    Enjoy
