I have been looking, and I've found 3 remaining dogs that I like.

1. Teacup Maltipoo (Like Ashley Tisdale's dog, Maui)

2. Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie)

3. Pomeranian

Anyway, which one is the best well tempered, and doesn't seem to get like alot of health issues. Plus which one to you think it the cutest!!

  1. Kips Mom is absolutely right.  Number 1 is almost guaranteed to have health problems, as it is a "teacup", which is NOT a different type of breed, it is a name given to sickly, runt puppies by places like puppy mills and backyard breeders in order to sell them for insane amounts.  Basically, a "teacup maltipoo" really means "sickly mutt that is going to cost you and most likely will NOT be temperamentally sound". Please take this off your list.

Numbers 2 and 3, while little dogs, are still high maintenance because of their coats.  They also tend to be yappy and difficult to housetrain.  These two breeds are also commonly bred by the aforementioned BYBs and puppy mills because they're tiny and cute and easy to sell for thousands.  IF you decide to go with one of these, start off looking into breed specific rescues and shelters, then move to RESPONSIBLE breeders.  And never ever ever ever buy from a pet store.  Those puppies come from mills and BYBs and inevitably have a whole slew of issues.

Please don't get a dog for cuteness factor.  That's one of the worst reasons to get one.  And there are some breeds that are inherently well tempered but that *doesn't mean* you don't have to train them.  Little dogs are cute, but because of their size and "cuteness", lots of owners get away with not training the dog correctly, so they end up with a dog who is extremely temperamental because they treated it like a stuffed animal rather than a dog (dog purses, doggie clothes ,etc.), which does a great disservice to the dog.  He has 4 legs, he can use them to walk.  You wouldn't see a German Shepherd or a Dane acting the way I've seen a ton of toy breeds act because they are just. too. big. and become a real problem.  Understand what I mean?

Anyway, I'm not sure if you're talking about getting one of these breeds and want to know what WE think or if you're just asking to be asking (I'm assuming the former) but please take what I said into consideration.  We all must be attracted to the dogs we choose, but that is REALLY REALLY low on the list...like, at the bottom.   You should also be asking yourself if you have the time, money and patience to give it quality vet care, food and training.  Dogs NEVER stop being work.  Dogs don't grow up like human children and eventually *hopefully* become independent...they rely on us their whole lives and we owe it to them to treat them as the great species they are.

:-)  Just some things to think on.

  2. If you buy from a pet store or BYB, any breed or mutt like the multipoo will have a high chance of being bad tempered and unhealthy.  That may not be what you want to hear, but it is the truth.  And do NOT get a puppy based on cuteness - they grow up and are dogs for far longer then they are puppies!

Find a real breed that you like, then find a responsible breeder - that is your best bet for getting a good tempered, healthy dog.  Or rescue an adult from a shelter!

  3. Well, I say #2 because I have one and I love her temperament and her personality.  Plus she is a low energy dog which means she only likes little walks and spends a good time napping.

#3- can't handle they are not good around guest and other people, very yippee dogs.

Get some books out of the library and read up on each breed.  Having a new pup is a lot of work!   And make sure you have plenty of money saved up for lots of vet trips!  Dogs are hard work and expensive.  Don't get one until your ready!

  4. pomeranians are great dogs, my old dog was the best dog in the world, they are loving and obedient, but loud... I don't like teacups, they are bred to be small, often inbred, and have more health problems than other dogs. My favorite breed is picapoo. That's the dog my Mom got when I was 1, I remember getting her and she lived for 22 years and was really smart.

  5. The pomeranian! M friend has one, named Chico (lol) and he is a very good tempered pup. He also keeps her entertained and is very nice.

  6. My grandma has a Pomeranian and there realty hyper so I wouldn't get one of those. Yorkie will run away and I don't like Maltipoos. I think you should get a daschund  there easy to train and great with kids.

  7. i recommend eitherthe yorkie or pomeranian

but if you get a pomeranian i suggest when you get him start at a young age start getting him used to people bc then he/she wont bark as much but once they get used to the same guest like for example we have some one who comes over and my dog loves them very much anyways.. just take him on walks to the store etc at a young age so he wont bark as much as for the yorkie theres nothing much i can say bc our relatives dont really complain bout him he does bark too though so do the same thing as i said to the pom. but my relatives do say you need to play with him alot and if your wearing socks he tends to take them off? but chances are not all yorkies tend to do that...

hope i helped! i own a pomeranian so if you have any questions feel free to email me!

  9. 1.  They are very, very expensive.  Unless you plan on spending around $1,500, I would not recommend it.

    2.  They are very nice dogs, they can be a little yappy, but all small dogs are.  They are usually a very good breed.

    3.  Pomeranians are a great breed if you're ready to play and spend time with them a lot.  They are very energetic and usually bark a lot.

All of these Toy Breeds that you're interested bark a lot and have lots of energy!  Remember that.

  10. hm 1. it will have tons of problems.

    2. why not get a real dog?

  11. 1#) VERY VERY BAD!  There is no such thing as a teacup dog, teacup means sickly runt! Read this about tea cup dogs which come from sickly puppy mills
