  1. 1. People who whine about the cost of food when it still takes less than a third of their income to feed themselves well (in the U.S. anyway) in a year.

    2. People who get cranky if they have to wait in a line of any length for any period of time at a store when their are countries where people wait in long lines for almost everything they want to buy.

    3. People who worry about whether or not the eggs they are eating came from "free range" hens and if those hens had an organic diet when there are people who are starving to death who would eat a half rotten egg without even giving it's origin a second thought.

    How's that?

  2. Well, if by "today" you mean "not 1700", and by "people" you mean "American", then the answer is yes.

The so-called "poor" in this country live better than the royalty in certain other countries, and better than most of the upper class from 200 years ago.

We complain when there is "nothing in the fridge", which usually means we are too lazy to heat anything up or make a sandwich. Never realizing that we are actually pretty fortunate to even have refridgerators, compared to the settlers.

We complain when a bulb burns out, forgetting how fortunate we are to even have electricity in the first place.

We complain when we are "bored" of our 5-year-old cars, forgetting that there was a time when automobiles, and mobility in general, were novelties.

We complain when our credit card is declined, forgetting that, at one point in history, you really could tell how wealthy someone was by the way they dressed, or the house they lived in. Now, it's all a show, provided by creditors.

We complain when we have to wait our turn for the bathroom, forgetting that indoor plumbing was not a housing requirement until this century, and people once had to stand in line...outside in the snow and rain for the privelege of sitting over a hole.

  3. alot of blue/white collar workers have lost their jobs- the mortgage/real estate industry is in the dumps for a lot of brokers/agents, that were formerly raking in the dough. some union/labor/facotry jobs have been eliminated and outsourced to other countries. people with masters degree are unemployable, there are ads in newspapers offering a meager 15 dollars an hour for people with aa/bachelor degrees.

some people are in unforeseen/unplanned horible accidents which disable them, changing them from productive members of society to burdens on the welfare system.

yet employed people who have good, steady jobs/carreers, good health, intelligence and skill manage to be pathetic sel pitying losers. wahh, I am depressed, wahh, my life sucks, wahh, my boss is a jerk.

instead of being grateful for the brains/talent, good health and gainful employment that they have, they choose to take it all for granted and have pity parties, cultivate negativity, feel entitled to more, blame others for their issues.

the fact that many people fail to critically think for themselves, take responsibility for whats wrong in their lives and world and make a difference, or have any sense or gratitude - is evidence that people are generally unawre of their good fortune.

if you think your life sucks- it can be so much worse than it is- you can be some blind, retarded girl being raped by the caregivers in your institution(yes this happens) you can be some semi comatose, vegetable with open, sores, muscle contractures, ventilator and g tube dependent(many people live this way) you could be a prisoner in Guantanamo bay, or an Iraqi ,living in your destroyed town, with a bunch of dead family members.

but people fail to see that

  4. People are unaware that no mother makes two identical birthday suits.  No two souls are here for the same adventure

  5. could you at least reword your homework so ppl might believe you would understand their responses?

  6. No, they are generally unaware of their bad fortune considering all the technology and wealth that the upper 1 percent of the world's population suppresses which if lifted would make Earth a utopian paradise and not the present h**l that the criminally insane ruling rich elites have created.
