  1. 1. Glycogenesis is a process occurring when excess glucose entering the blood after a meal is rapidly taken up by the liver and sequestered as the large polymer glycogen.

    2. With hypothermia the body's temperature lood has dropped below that which is needed to function adequately. The body undergoes a sort of rationing process where blood and thus oxygen is diverted to the most essential organs. As a result the body parts that are receiving less blood have a diminished ability to stay warm and to function normally. Consequentially, as hypothermia progresses the more vital the systems affected become.

    3. Jill is suffering from acute starvation induced ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis as the result of starvation is a life threatening condition. Symptoms include cachexia (body wasting including muscle atrophy and low body weight), dehydration, loss of consciousness, bradycardia (low heart rate, which kind of explains her arrhythmia, also commonly noted is a systolic click caused by a mitral valve prolapse), and a history of anorexia nervosa.
