  1. definitely go with the the 3 iron HYBRID. Easy to hit like an iron, goes far like a wood.

  2. Irons are always easier to manipulate the ball.  Fairway woods such as a 7 or 9 wood is better in longer grass or sand because the club head doesn't get twisted as much going through the grass or sand, so you will have a truer and straighter flight.  Woods tend to go a bit farther if you miss-hit too.

Also it depends on how good are you with long irons.  For less experienced golfers, long irons are the toughest to hit in the fairway where is a fairway wood is more forgiving.  For me, if I absolutely have to hit it 200 or so to a small target, I usually go for my 7 wood because I've practiced more with it.

  3. It depends on the player.  A 7 wood requires a sweeping swing; a 3 iron takes a more upright swing, with a descending blow to the ball (when compared to a fairway wood swing).

If you are a player, that plays "woods" better.. then the 7 wood could be the better of the two clubs.  If you excel at your iron play.. then a 3 iron would be no sweat to you....

  4. 3 iron is heavier than a 7 wood.

I think like other guys have mentioned above, you would like to consider 3 hybrid.

  5. im not a big hybrid substitution person but i definately like the 7 wood better i play it

  6. All depends on the situation. I would usually go for the 3 iron.

  7. I replaced my 3 and 4 irons with a hybrid its easy to hit or even the fw wood.

  8. Depends on who is hitting them.... If you hit them the same distance, depends on what you need. The 7 wood will have a higher ball flight and come down softer. A 3I can be controlled better as far a traj goes...( hitting it lower can be easier).... SO, if you can hit the 3I high enough it can be a more versatile club.
