Hey! I have 3 kids 5, 4 and an infant (think carseats) I am looking to get a family size sedan. We already have a bigger rig but are looking for something smaller for me. I have been looking at the used 05-07 Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry, and maybe a Hyundai Sonata. Tell me does anyone have 3 kids stuffed into a car. And what car and why would you get????

  1. I'd go with an 06 Sonata, that's a Consumer Reports best buy for mid-size sedan and you'd still have some factory warranty left on it.  The Sonata is very popular and rated as highly as the others for features and reliability.  You might want to test both a 4 and 6 cylinder model to see what you need, but with 4-5 people in the car, I'd recommend the 3.3L V6 Sonata.  I own a 2006 Azera, best car I ever drove or owned, no regrets of not getting a 328i or another Maxima (my previous car).

  2. That's funny I have the same as Jennifer S except have a Mazda 3 hatchback (very roomy back for stroller, etc). and a Trailblazer and both my kids also like riding in the Mazda better. I've fit 3 carseats in both although the Mazda is a tiny car so it's a tighter fit. I would look at each vehicles interior dimensions to see which has the biggest back seats. And also if either parent is tall make sure a carseat fits with our seat as farb ack as it needs to be for your to drive...We couldn't put the rear facing one behind the drivers seat because my husband is too tall.

  3. Get a stationwagon

  4. My sister has a 2005 Chevy Malibu and 3 kids in carseats ( 3 1/2, 2, and newborn)--they fit in the backseat, but it's a pretty tight fit. I would go for an smaller suv or something but it's up to you. Good luck!!

  5. maybe mini van kids need room but i know everyone hate mini vans or a chevy thats really wide

  6. I have three kids ages 11, 6, and 3 and I recently purchased a Mazda 6. Before the mazda I had a chevy trailblazer and the kids actually enjoy riding in the Mazda much better. Now the back seat is tight but no more than any other car. The Mazda 6 has excellent safety features, are not that expensive, get good mpg (think 32+), and are a very sporty. My mazda rides very smoothly and I am very satisfied. I looked at the toyota camry, honda accord, and nissan altima before buying my mazda. The honda will hold its resale value and will run for 200000+ miles but the parts are foreign and can cost you lots of money if something tears up. I bought my Mazda when they had a rebate and paid a lot less that what I would have for a new or even used camry, accord, or altima. Hyundais do not get very good reviews. My friend had a hyundai and she had mechanical problem after problem. This is why they offer a hugher warranty because problems are expected.
