Question:

3 month old baby acting weird?

My 3 month old slept practically all day today. He was up about 3 hours total I would say. Now he is tired again. And he barely ate a bit today. Usually he eats like a pig every hour and a half. Today he ate every 3-5 hours and it was only nibbles. I am breastfeeding. Is this behavior normal? I hope he isn't sick?

  1. it could be a growth spurt. Babies usually sleep alot. If you are really worried call you doctor. But i wouldnt worry. Does he have a fever?

  2. My 3 month old son did the same thing a couple days ago.  He was up for maybe 2 hours the whole day and only eat about 20 oz the whole day then slept through the night as well.  He's still sleeping more then usual but he is eating regularly again.

    I wouldn't worry about it.  I'm pretty sure it's a growth spurt.

  3. Has he recently had any vaccines?  He could be fighting off a virus, or he could be in a growth spurt where he needs alot of sleep.  If he continues to refuse to eat I would just give the doctor a call.  It can't hurt to have them take a look.

  4. my son did the same at 3 weeks yea lil early cuz he supost to sleep i no but my son stays up d**n near all day started that at 2 weeks so i took him in and he was dehidrated they had to give him a iv and told me to bottle feed for 3 days and suplement brest and bottle

  5. MY guess is growth spurt!!  My son had one around that mark and slept and slept!!  Keep an eye out for a fever or vomiting (which would be NOT a growth spurt but sickness), otherwise enjoy some time to yourself while the little guy sprouts up some more!!

  6. That is how my 2 month old acts sometimes but nothing is wrong with her..I guess somedays she is more tired then others

  7. babies have a growth spurt at 3 months so he might just be growing so he needs lots of sleep! you need to take his rectal temp to see if he has a fever..if he doesnt then he should be fine and it is probably nothing..but if he does it again tomorrow or he has a temp then call your pedi
