3 month old puppy loves to eat dirt and grass?

I have a 3 mo Lab that loves to eat dirt and grass, but mainly dirt. He's also getting a little nippie, is this teething or a behavior issue? How old are they when the teething issue subsides?

It is just labs really.....I have had 3 labs and all three of them chewed like crazy on grass dirt and especially garden hoses but it takes about 3 years for them to grow out of it....one thing i found outh that helps is those kong things i think that they are called with the special dog spray or peanut butter to go with them it keeps their mouths occupied. better watch ur puppy closely, dogs have been know to eat rocks too. and i would imagine the vet bills for that is through the roof

get him a bone my use to do that and now hes 4 months hes just teething

i have a 3 month old **** a poo same as your dog when my dog eats the grass it means that her stomach is not feeling that well,but eating the dirt i have no idea what that means,and puppy stop chew when there i little older but i don't know when but just give it time and give (her)or(he) some chew toys.hope some of my advice work out.

Eating dirt might indicate he's missing something in his diet -- are you feeding him a good quality food?
