Question:

3 piece snooker cue?

Hi I just purchased a 3 piece snooker cue, I assumed this meant the cue consisted of three pieces however its just a two piece cue with an extra “extension” piece. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly how to use this extension with the other two pieces, is it simply a replacement of the lower piece..?

  1. A 3 piece is usually the tip end (a little over half the length of the cue) and a butt end (the short one.)

The 3rd piece on a "s***w-in" type cue is a long replacement for the short butt. Take the short one off and put the long one on.

Most modern players have a click-on extension which is added to the cue, rather than using a second (long) butt.

  2. Quit buying that c**p buy a Shon or Joss or 5280 just check the deflection on the shaft. All those other cues are c**p.

  3. there's so many out there its hard to say,but I would imagine your right,it re place's the bottom half, does this piece also stretch?. check it out.

  4. just two pieces

  5. A 3 piece cue is usually split about 33/66 towards the tip end, you unscrew the butt end for shots where you would need an extension you can have them adapted to add both the long and short extensions to become a really long cue but you'd have to make sure the threaded insert was fitted correctly.

A two piece cue like the one I use is split 50/50 purely for storage and so you can carry it around more easily. A 3 piece cue is a good alternative to using the house plastic extentions which can sometimes slip and dont grip very well

Good luck with your playing and we look forward to seeing you on TV

  6. The spare piece should be a bit longer than the other bottom piece. change them over if you cant quite reach it will help avoiding using the poker cues thats in the clubs.
