I have a 3 prong LED toggle switch that i want to hook up to some neon lights in my car. The prongs are labeled power, ACC, and negative. It's a 12V two position switch and I want to know how to connect it to control my neon lights?

  1. first of all, don't cut the wire from your cigarette lighter to use it for the lights. the cigarette lighter is wired specifically for that. wire a cable either from the fuse box or directly from the battery to the positive prong of your switch. The negative (ground) works best attached from the chassis, just make sure that when you connect it, clean the contact area, make sure there is no rust or dirt. The ACC would work best connected to the fuse box. connect it to the radio or to the headlight fuse. making sure to connect it to the side opposite of the direct current. meaning that if there was a short, the fuse would break and protect your investment.

  2. Ok if you want to hook it up to your neons any neons including underbody power goes from the battery i cut out my ciggerette lighter and used that power wire. hook that to power on the switch than hook up your ground which can be ground from car frame or negative side of anything then to hook up the neons get the power FROM THE NEONS!!! and put it on the ACC on the switch hope tht helped
