My fiance and I want to get married in a courthouse for now and then in April have a bigger wedding. So 3 questions in 1....

1. Is it weird that we want to essentially have 2 weddings?

2. How do I start the process of arranging a courthouse wedding? ( i live in Fort Worth TX if that helps)

3. We want to get married in our pajamas at the courthouse with all of our guests dressed this way too. Is that going to be a problem?

Oh and we know we are weird! So no need to point that out!

  1. No it is not weird to want 2 weddings!

After the 1st wedding are you guys going to tell people you are married?

If you guys are then it might be a little weird, why can't you guys wait until April?

You should call down to your local Courthouse and ask them the question you are asking US!

If you want to get married in your PJ's then get married in your PJ's! If you are going to have guest their then it might be a little strange for a second wedding in April!

If you want your guest to dress that way, then prepare that some might think this is the wedding!

  2. No it is not wird to have 2 weddings. You may not be able to wear pajamas in the court house ,that depends on the judge.2 of my daughters and one son got married in the court house. It is a fast ceramony.

  3. 1) No, I plan to have a courthouse wedding in March 09, followed by a regular reception. After some married  years together I'd like to do a small wedding like ceremony to renew our vowels. So, no I see nothing weird.

    2) Go to the Circuit Court and apply for a wedding license. They'll help you set everything up there.

    3) It shouldn't be after all it's still your big day!

             CONGRATULATIONS & GOOD LUCK ;)

  4. ok

Im a court house wedding pro.

Just go up and file for a marriage certificate. Make the date to go up there. Usually 3 days later is the fastest you can do it.

As long as everyones jammies are PG and you wear shoes it shouldnt be a problem.

  5. I got married in a court house and had a bigger wedding 10 months later.

Just go to the court house take your I.D's and some money (not much) just for filing fee's.  File out the paper work and get married that day.

No it won't be a problem how you dress! This will be you guy's special day wear what you like and take plenty of pictures...Laugh later!!! LOL!

    Congrats!  Good Luck!

  6. 1.No it's not weird.

2.Just put your pj's on and get to the courthouse.

3.No it shouldn't be a problem I've seen it done before.

  7. 1. no that's fine

    2.  Call the courthouse and talk to them, it differs from community to community.

    3. I think that is awesome and a cute idea.  I don't think it'll be a problem (and ignore ashley...it is NOT white trash to do this, it's different, memorable and cute).  You're going to get some more haters on this idea, i'm sure. But i think it's awesome and if it's what you guys want then go for it:D  Hey sometimes weird can be good!!!

    Good luck! and congrats!

  8. 1.  No.

    2.  Go to your county courthouse and ask the secretary for an information packet on getting married in the courthouse.  She will have some papers for you to fill out as well as a checklist of all the other information you need.

    3.  Yes.  If you want to be trailer trash, that's your prerogative.  Don't force your guests to adhere to your lifestyle as well.  Especially not in a court of law.  That's repulsive and disrespectful.

  9. I believe you can wear whatever you prefer at the courthouse.

Go to the court house with your partner and ask them how to get married there.

I wouldn't mention that the wedding party and guests are wearing pj's

    Just do it.

    Good luck!
