I can't believe you honestly need to ask somebody on why community service is a good thing. But whatever.

1) You help people. Whether it's through fundraising, raking leaves, or cleaning up a park, you are helping your community.

2) It boosts your church. If the community is aware of a certain church doing community service, more people from the community are more likely to come to services and activities and donate to the church.

3) It feels good. One of the most rewarding things you can ever recieve in life is knowing that you gave back. It doesn't matter how big or small of a community service event it is. It just feels good to know that you helped someone and did something good, not because you get paid, but because you want to.
