Chargers for your electronics (and the associated plug adapters and voltage converters for international travel)

List of addresses and emergency numbers.

Toothbrush (I *always* forget mine, as it's the last thing I use before I leave on the trip.)  Fortunately, stores continue to sell them...

It depends on the destination of the trip. But, just generally speaking, I would take a 1) good detailed map, 2) travelers checks, and 3) a cell phone with all the numbers I might need programmed in.
