3 way Manny Ramirez deal???

1. Red Sox trade Manny Ramirez to Marlins.

2. Marlins trade top 5 overall double-A prospect Mike Stanton (I think that is his name) to Pittsburgh.

3. Pirates trade Jason Bay to Red Sox

either way, Ramirez is tanking it and trying to talk his way out of boston.

We've seen this happen every year, but i think this time he may actually be going.

Wow the news of this trade has been bitter sweet, due to the fact that i am a Marlins fans i like it that he will probably help Florida in their pursue for the playoffs but there is one thing that worries me and that is what are the Marlins going to do when this season is over? because think about it they give up Jeremy Hermida who will be in arbirtration next year (he is a decent right fielder) and then who will replace him for next year. Manny Ramirez will only satisfy the Marlins only for the two months left in the regular season. As for the other two teams i think the Red Sox are not very happy either but they will get a decent player and will also get rid of Manny's huge contract, so at the end it works out alright i guess for them.

Nice move by the Red Sox to create a bidding war with Philly and Mets. I say he ends up going to the Mets....new ball park next year....Im not so worried about what we will get back it wont be a high profile player it will be young talent. Coco plays center for the rest of the year and Jacoby plays left....If it doesnt get done tomorrow I could see a wavier deal happening if the Sox really fall out of it.

That trade actually sounds pretty good. I'm just worried Jason Bay would come here and play only decent ball (like seemingly everyone else we trade for- javy lopez, eric gagne, etc)

Jay: I heard somewhere that the Mets aren't really interested in him, but that the Phillies were willing to give us a half decent outfielder for him (aka, they;re willing to give us a dollar bill in return for a 100 dollar bill, which would only hurt our team)

That's a horrible trade for the Marlins but really good for the other two. Giving up 5 prospects to have to listen to Manny whine for 2 months? That's a h**l that even the Yankees don't deserve.

d**n straight i would...Manny obviously wants out..and Jason Bay is a good fit for Boston even though he lacks the power of Manny...Its also gonna clear up Cap space so they could do something good in offseason

I'm happy being a Yankee fan and all. We wo't have to deal with that pesky slimebag Manny anymore. Although this means I'm going to have to root against Jason Bay now, whom I had always liked and have on my fantasy team.

Sounds okay, but the Marlins would probably lose Ramirez  at the end of the year and the Pirates and Sox would get the best of this deal, but it does bring the Marlins a great bat and a good chance of going far this year, so I think that it is a good trade, even tho the marlins will lose Manny in the long term, he will bring them far in the short term. I think this is a very good deal for all involved.
