3 way switch circuits?

Do you need special switches for 2 way switch circuits?

Yes.  3-way switches have a different wiring configuration in order to allow electricity to flow through the first switch and get to the second switch even when it is turned off.  If you use 2-way switches, both switches would have to be turned on in order to allow the light to come on because turning off either switch would cut the power to the whole circuit.

Two-way switches are required, these have three terminals most commonly labelled 'comm, L1, L2'.
