3 ways to reduce dependence on oil imports i the U.S.?Please explain what u are saying if its not a known...?

solution? thanx cuz i dont know if y answers are right-buying and selling more efficent cars, relying on solar, wind, and biomass energy, growing better food so people can buy locallly grown food(uses less fuel). I dont know if this is right. What is your answer?

  1. 1) Build nuclear power plants to generate at least 80% of our electrical demand

    2) Drill for oil

    3) Develop our massive oil shale reserves

    4) Build coal to fuel plants to use our massive coal reserves.

    5) Convert natural gas to liquid fuels

    Ooops, thats more than three.  I have several more if you are interested.


  2. Raise fuel economy standards to 40 mpg by 2012 and 55 mpg by 2020

    Require fuel-efficient replacement tires by 2002.

    Enact tax incentives for hybrids and fuel-cell vehicles.
