  1. Breastfeeding?  Well, sounds crazy but try expressing milk in a cup and using a dropper to put milk in his nose, the antibodies in the milk will actually help clear the passage. It works!! If you are really desparate you  can try to suck the mucus out, I find the aspirators no good.  Crazy stuff, but us parents will try it all!

  2. use saline drops (can get them from the pharmacy) or you can make your own (just google how to make it) .. put a few drops in his nose and use a nasal aspirator and should help

or ... if u have a humidifier ... use one of those

  3. When my daughter had a cold I was constantly after her with the "snot sucker"/Nasal Aspirator.  She HATED it and cried but it really helped clear her out so she could eat.  Hope he feels better soon!

EDIT:  Someone mentioned that aspirators are no good, so I wanted to add that I had 2 different ones and one was a piece of c**p and the other one was GREAT.  I don't know the brands, though.  The good one was harder to compress (& therefore sucked better) and the crappy one was mushy and weak.   If it doesn't clear his nose out, it could be the aspirator and you may need to try a different one.

  4. If you are breastfeeding try putting a few drops of breast milk in his nose. It does work. If not use some saline drops from the store or make your own.1 cup warm water mixed with 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon Table Salt and a pinch of Bicarb Soda. Keep in fridge in a glass bottle or jar for a maximum of 24 hours. Also try running the shower on hot to create a steam room in your bath room. Undress him to his diaper and hold him for 5 to 10 minutes in the bathroom. The steam will help loosen the congestion. If you have a vaporizer use it. I would put it in my son's room while he slept. And even though he is having trouble eating it is important to keep those fluids in him.
