my daughter asked me to make her a cup of hot chocolate so i did and also made my self a coffee at the same time, i have gone and given her the wrong drink, i always make my coffee really milky so it is warm rather than hot so she wouldnt have had a problem drinking it. but by the time i had made my 15 month old his juice my daughter had knocked back ever drop of the coffee before i had even realised what i had done.

She is absolutely hyper like a whirlwind through the house i have never seen her move so fast,

the curtains have been pulled down, the cushions on the 2 couches are on the floor and she is using them like a bouncy castle. i cant put them back quick enough before she has them back on the floor again, i have given up and hope that by letting her bounce around like that she will hopefully run out of energy soon.

but how long is this going to last?

My 18 month old son keeps falling over because he is laughing so hard & I have my parents coming to visit at 7pm.

  1. Give her an hour or two, and that caffeine rush will dwindle down to a crash. She should take a GREAT nap this afternoon! Good luck with your bouncy castle sofa cushions! (At least she's keeping your 18 month old entertained!)

  2. he be ok un

  3. AHH soo cute

The thought of the 18 month boy laughing so hard and falling over -lol

    let them to it.

they'll eventually get tired and fall asleep. so will your son from all that laughing

  4. Just laugh about it.

  5. Some hard liqueur should balance her out. (joking). It'll wear off eventually, relax and let it run it's course. Maybe ask her to drink a few glasses of water cuz her stomach could probably do with a rinse out.

  6. Go to the park for an hour, and just let her RUN!  When she gets home (about time for the crash) she'll go to sleep and have a great nap, I bet.  Good luck.  I'm sorry I'm laughing, but I got such a mental image.  It's like something out of a movie!! lol

  7. wow... i would let her run and play until she wears herself out. Maybe take her outside? so she can run out the energy and not tear up the house anymore! my son has drank a few drinks. he has adhd. which is not good. so.,.. he was up and running for like 3 hours. I hope she wears out sooner. You could try getting her to eat some bread or something of the sort... help asorb the coffee!

  8. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO man i can see that now  that is to bad ,funny-probably not to you- i wish i knew what to do for her bet let her run it off i guess //  good luck with that //

  9. lol, you poor thing.  all you can do is try to get her to drink lots and lots of water to move it through faster and wait it out.

and fitz, did someone drop you on your head when you were young?

  10. It'll take a while to work itself out of her system. Sorry. Try giving her lots of fluids to help it flush itself out faster. She should be fine a little later this afternoon, or this evening - but she'll probably crash and who knows about naps.

  11. Put on ther coats and go to the park for an hour so she can run off the excess energy, at least she'll sleep well tonight.

  12. oh dear, well, first give her some water to re-hydrate her, because coffee is a diuretic and dehydrates you.  Next you might want to take her for a walk around the block to give her some fresh air and excercise.  Next, you might want to give her either some herbal tea, like chamomile (not normal tea because that has caffiene too), or just good old plain normal milk.  Dont give her anything sugary like fruit or juice or even biscuits, nothing, only savory things  or plain things like bread.  But water is probably a good idea.

  13. Ohhhhh I'm sorry - I'm laughing my socks off here too!!!  Just the mental image of her tearing about the place.  Give her a meal and some juice - it will wear off soon I promise!! She'll be fine by bedtime.

  14. LOL!

Oh dear. You'll just have to sit it out. Perhaps the grandparents can help you out while you get the little one off to bed? She could bounce on them for a bit?

You could try giving her a bath to unwind her, and feed her some carbohydrates (but nothing sugary!). Time to switch to decaff methinks?

[wanders off shaking head and chuckling]

  15. lol nevermind the child poor you, i hope it wears off by bedtime

and fitz?dont be so arrogant, theres no need of nastiness. grow up.

  16. it could last a few hours, and then I'm sure she'll crash...hope it coincides with her nap time. If she goes more berzerk, I suggest taking the kids to the park for a while, so she can run herself out.

  17. your taking the p**s and obviously a yank, you will probably

get a hit from sniffing the barmaids apron. god almighty,

where do you lot get off for fu-cks sake.

  18. She'll be fine once the energy burns off. I would say a few hours at most. Make sure you don't make the same mistake again!

  19. HA!  That's funny.  It'll wear off eventually - let her loose outside if you can.  That way she doesn't tear up the house anymore.  It won't last all day.  Probably a good 3-4 hours.  My hubby shares a few sips of his morning coffee on the weekends with our 18 month old daughter.  She loves it!  I don't like her doing it and it really doesn't seem to make her more hyper.  But I imagine it would if she drank a whole cup!!!

    Have fun!
