3 year old with no eye problems yesterday cannot open his eyes they are sore could it be to do with food?

I have a 3 year old male he has never had any eye problems in the past but for some reason yesterday I went in to his kennel ne came to me with his eyes shut he is walking in to things could it be something he has eaten has anyone else had this problem he is booked in to the vets monday can anyone help

I'd get him to a 24 hour vet clinic ASAP

I would not wait until Monday--I would take him to an emergency vet clinic and quick. It could be a number of things, including something that fell into his eyes or scratched the cornea, or some sort of infection like conjunctivitis... I've never heard of that happening due to food, unless he ate something poisonous and then there were many other problems, too. In any case, all of the possibilities should be looked at by a vet immediately!

I'm guessing and hoping that you're talking about a dog although I might be missing something. Yes, almost certainly an infection, probably Conjunctivitis, I would go with the other suggestion too, take him to the vets ASAP, don't wait, he's only got one set of eyes, it may be somethings serious or a scratch or something. good luck, i hope he's ok
