Probably havent paid any money for about a year as my circumstances changed and my account went to a debt company. i owe about 800 pound, maybe 1k now with charges. I havent had communication with them for at least a year. I want to know what happens if i pay them the money back. The card is suspended and they never sent me a new one when it expired ( obviously) but if i pay the money to the debt company will the credit card company let me have a new card once its paid off or not? Its with Barclays...

  1. Getting any credit is now very difficult - due to the credit crises, companies are very careful who they give credit to.  I am confident in saying that Barclays will probably never give you a credit card again.  At the current time, you will be extremely luck to get any credit with an adverse credit history.

  2. you can pay it off, I doubt they or any credit card company will let you open a new acct any time soon - you'll have to wait for your credit score to go back up AFTER you have paid off the debt-maybe 2-3 yrs

  3. just wait another year & reapply ;)

  4. I paid and negotiated. IT WORKED BIG TIME. BP oil charged me off in 1992. I paid them back, begged and gave them some extra money and they reopened the same account and I still have a BP Oil credit card on my pocket today. Bo Majors .

Do not just wait another year. Never WAIT. GO NOW!

If someone ask you a question, do you think they would like the answer now or a year from now. Creditors are even more anxious

  5. If you have the cash on hand to pay off the debt you can likely settle your debt with them.  I used to do this for a living for people...more often than not you can negotiate 45 to 55 cents on the dollar for what you owe.  Once you settle the debt, contact the credit bureaus and have them remove the collection.  The creditor won't reactivate your account, however, once your credit is cleaned up you will be able to acquire new credit.

  6. You most certainly cannot get your card back. You defaulted on your account and along with it lost your card privileges.

All they'll want from you is what you owe them. They won't be extending credit to you anytime soon and neither will any other card company will with an existing card collection item on your credit report.

Start over with a secured card with Capital One for say $500 or more if you can afford and don't max out your card. Use it sparingly. Pay in full and on time everytime.

  7. Well once you pay it off you can regain credit with them be applying for another card they will not activate your old card.

  8. Why not do a runner and get a different card......up here for thinking down there for dancing my son.

  9. Try to have as much information as you could perhaps is one of the options, however it is labor consuming, here is the place i have ever had good experience with.http://debt-relief.expertips4u.info/debt...

  10. Given that you failed to repay the debt there will be a record of this on your credit history report. Even when you have paid off the debt the fact that you defaulted will still remain on your credit history.

Hence you may have difficulty getting a credit card from Barclays - or any other provider.
