30-hour famine advertising recommendations?

Hi we are doing the thirty hour famine from world vision at my school. my club is putting it on, LEO club. But we are not having an easy time getting people.

They have a rule that you have to contribute at least 30 dollars, which may be part of the problem. But i think our advertising is weak. We just have a board with the words of the event on it. I suggested pictures of starving children etc to get people to listen to their heart a bit. But i dont know if thats enough.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get people really into this? We have a goal of 150 people (i didnt set that goal, seems high), and we have 15 people so far only. just started doing it today though.

We need suggestions! If anyone has done it before or not or has ideas, thanks!!

yes put up those pix.  

then get permission to play a vcd or dvd on the wall of the canteen or hall or corridor.  play it during break, b4 and after school.  with a low voice preferably a ladies voice.

get flyers - use recycle papers - for each class to place on their doors.
