This is my third pregnancy and I'm sure with my first 2 it didn't hurt this much!

My lower back and my hips feel like there breaking, its painful to walk, stand even sit i just dont know what to do with myself. Ive had a hot bath and am now sitting propped with pillows tucked in wherever i can get them.

Does anyone have any tips on what i can do with myself and if this is normal? I dont see the midwife for another 4 weeks and hate being told by the dr that I'm just pregnant - i already know that.

Thanks x*x

  1. It's normal.  You have sciatica pain.  The only thing you can take is paracetamol (acetamenophen/Tylenol) and warm baths.

  2. I am sorry that I dont have any advice for you.. other than asking if you can use icy hot... I am going to ask my doctor when I go this week... I totally feel your pain! I am sitting in an office chair leaning on one side because of this stupid round ligament pain that is SHARP and doesnt go away, and my hips feel like they are grinding bone on bone! And yet all your doctor can do is make you feel like a complete idiot for calling... so once again I am sorry I couldnt help but just know I feel your pain!

  3. sometimes during a vaginal delivery you that bone (symphasis pubis) can separate. it is extremely painful. lie on your back, keeping your legs straight and lift one straight up off the bed. if this causes the pain to be horrible, you probably have a separated symphasis.

wearing a maternity support belt may help the pain, as it holds your hips closer together. there is nothing much that can be done to fix it, so take tylenol and put ice packs on it, if that feels good.
