  1. 100m:

dont run on your toes. sprint on the balls of your feet

300m: balls of your feet. i would recommend practicing this before the day of because it takes a while to learn to this well.

    for form while running:

Arms: locked at 90 degrees. bring arms forward and up and back and up. your hands should go no higher than your chin after coming out of the blocks. and i know this might sound rediculous but even though your arms are in this position, they should be relaxed, you shouldn't strain... that makes you slower.

Hands: relaxed (straight or loosely cupped...whatever works for you)

Head: straight and steady (to help with this focus on a point directly in your lane but past the finish line)

Whole body: should be relaxed. this is hard but if you strain your wasting energy that could be used more efficiently to generate speed. slight lean forward. raised hips. raise chest. somewhat straight back. sit in a chair tall and straight: how your elders tell you to sit. this is how your upper body should be during the race

Feet: dorsiflexed and you are running on the balls of your feet

Legs: think of your legs as a piston... with each step you are driving up and over the knee of the opposite leg. exaggerate this during practice but during the race just run... it will eventually become natural. limit backside mechanics meaning your legs should extend too far back while running. this will limit your speed.

    Other tips:

*you start the 300m the same way you start the 100m... hard. Why? if you dont go hard in the first couple of meters then in races longer than 100m, you'll waste energy reaccelerating after you realize you're not going fast enough.

*when you run try to push yourself more horizontally than vertically. scientists say that this mentality makes sprinters faster.

  2. for the 100m, push yourself up on your toes instead of running heel to toe. you'll go faster. build up speed as you go.

for the 300m, don't use all your energy for the first 100. push yourself through the curve and come out of it at a good speed, then take the last 100m just as you would take an open 100.

    hope this helps :)

  3. For the 100, there's no need to pace yourself because it's really short. You need to sprint it all out.

    I hate 300s!!!!!

On my team, those who run 300s indoor sprint the whole thing out, I can barely do it, and it feels terrible. So you might want to try running the first 100-150 meters at a moderate pace, but not too slow, and give the last bit everything you have left.

I know absolutely nothing about javelin.

    Good luck! = D
