30hp yamaha light on motor is on , Does this mean that it is low on oil? And if so how do you change it .?

Is it gear oil? to what level , and what grade . I'am in Australia. THANKS

  1. If it is a 4 stroke then yes, the oil is low.  It is not gear oil.  check the owner's manual for the proper oil weight and changing procedures.


  2. it wouldn;t mean its lo on oil .because it;s a 2 stroke and it doesn;t  need an oil change  (NO OIL IN IT)  U are lo on 2 stroke oil .this motor is oil injected !! lift  the cover off the engine & check oil resevoir if its m/t then thats the problem
