30mg Adderall (generic) to start?

My psychiatrist prescribed me 30mg of generic Adderall to start off with. I have never taken it or any other medication for ADD/ADHD before, and when I took one pill I REALLY felt the effects, Is that too much to start off with? Should I take half pill? When it finally started to wear off I got an awful headache.

I take both the regular and extended release.  If I take the blue alone in the morning, I get headaches after it wears off.  I dont get them with the extended release.  Ask your dr about those.

Call your doctor they may want to start you out at a lower dose.  It is good to keep in communication with your psychiatrist about your medication side effects.

Is your ADD ruining your life or can you get some cognitive behavioral therapy to help.  There are all kinds and need to be treated differently.  I was diagnosed with ADD a year ago and my doctor immediately gave me a prescription for Adderall.  I took it for 2 weeks and decided I did not like how it made me feel, able to concentrate for longer periods of time, but down at the same time.  I am naturally bubbly and I just didn't like it, so i quite.  Yes , I still have some of the ADD stuff, but I am learning to work with it and adjust some behaviors.  

You have to decide what is best for you, but I really don't like medication unless there is no other alternative.  Good luck!
