Question:

30th anniversary party ideas?

My parent's 30th anniversary is coming up and I am trying to throw them a surprise party... They are both laid back fun people and I want to do something that reflects that. I was thinking about a theme party, but it seems to me that whatever I do should in some way reflect their journey together... a progressive of sorts maybe with each room, food item, decoration, etc. representing a different place in their relationship? Does anyone have any ideas on how I could effectively do this and what might be some events to highlight? They were never the type of people to reminisce much, so I will have to think of specific things to stealthily ask them in order to put this together properly...

  1. My parents just celebrated their 40th anniversary and we threw a huge party for them. We had a buffet type spread and had songs that came out every year during their marriage. You could probably do a decade theme in each room and with the food just prepare what you know they like to eat. I hope that you have fun with this.

  2. That's nice you are doing that for your parents!

How about a vacation theme?  Go thru old photo albums and take out pics from all the vacations they have been on.

I.E. One table can be for Hawaiin pics and then do hawaiin foods.
