31 weeks pregnant???

i am 31 weeks pregnant and i went to the doctor today and they gave me a steriod shot because i was 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated and it was for the baby to develop its lungs incase it comes early...how did the shot effect u? did it make u sleepy or feel shaky and for how long? i have to wait 24 hours and go back and get another shot..thanks

Same thing happened to me with my last child. Of course they give you the shot to develop their lungs just in case you do go into labor. I was sleepy that's why your in the hospital. But trust me I was 50% 2cm and I lost my mucus plug and lost almost half my water, she plugged the rest with her head. The whole time I was in labor and didn't know it.
