  1. Your TV may already be an HDTV.  Almost all flat panel TVs made in 2007 are HD (either 720p or 1080p), but it may not have a digital tuner.   To get HD, you will need an HD tuner to receive off-the-air broadcasts.  See this

    You can also subscribe to cable or satellite HD service.


  2. You cannot switch an analog TV to HDTV, you have to purchase a HDTV 720p or a HDTV 1080p for HD
