i just bought my first high definition t.v. it's a 32" emerson. i love it. but i have a couple of questions.

1st. will playing my x-box 360 for long preiods of time damage the screen?

2nd. i noticed that when i set the screen to sidebar for awhile, then switch to full screen, it looks like the sides are out of time with the center of the picture. does it take some time for the un-used part to warm up?

3rd. anything else pro or con you can share with me about this style of t.v. would be much appreiciated.

thanx

  1. Only plasma sets and rear projector television sets are affecting by what is known as screen burn-in from displaying an image on the screen for long periods of time like what video games are capable of doing while playing.

If your Emerson is a CRT or LCD, you should be just fine.

#2: Your screen polarity made need to be re-adjusted, most HDTV sets have a service menu, but I advise you do more web research on that or contact a TV service technician before proceeding with doing that along, because the service menu which is hidden and only accessible through a code unlock, its settings cannot be undone or reset.

#3: Is it a CRT HDTV? CRTs are good HDTVs, the only downside is that they are heavy and aren't made any larger than 36" due to its heavy glass size.
