320 thread count egyptian cotton sheets?

I just bought some egyptian cotton 320 thread count sheets and was wondering if anybody knows if egyptian cotton usually washes up well or not. I really enjoy soft sheets and I've heard that sometimes after you wash sheets they can become less soft. Do you think mine will wash up okay?

  1. Egyptian cotton is generally good quality, and the thread count is okay.  The higher the thread count the softer the sheets, usually.

Wash them a few times and you'll notice that they get softer each time you wash them.  Try using a cup of white vinegar in your rinse cycle when you wash them to rinse out any "sizing" from the new sheets and any soap residue that gets left behind from your wash cycle...  Once the sheets are dry you won't smell the vinegar.

  2. ~~As long as you purchased them from a reputable dealer (there are a lot of impostor sheets being sold), then you can rest assured they stay soft. You have a great high thread count, so they will stay soft and smooth for years.~~

  3. i had a pair and they only became softer with every wash...oh i miss them, we got a bigger bed and also they got soooo soft after so many washes that they actually began to tear.  but you have many a washes before that starts.  good thing you bought egyptian cotton, its the only way to go.
