  1. Braxton hicks can actually last up to 12 hours or more and can be painful. But you have to remember your in the home stretch now once past 30 weeks your baby is putting on more weight and loosing room in there.  So try laying down on your back with you legs elevated use a warm heating pad not cold or relieve some of the pain.  And real contractions can be close together so keep an eye on them. if they are only on one side they then are brax hicks.  I just had pressure and tightening right across my stomach and back I went into preterm labour 3 times starting at 32 weeks.I am 37 now and cannot wait to have her on monday.  So try that and take some herbal tea like mint or chamomile for the nausea.  Don't panic just keep an eye on them if they get worse then call your doctor or call the obstetrics's on-call doctor and they will tell you if you need to come in.

  2. We are both due the same day!! How exciting.

I have braxton hicks all the time but the fact that you are measuring bigger for your dates, especially 3 weeks bigger, would worry me a little

I would seriously ask you to speak with your maternity assessment at the hospital. They should ask you to come just to be safe.

EDIT: Do not not lay on your back as one has suggested. Its not healthy for you or baby.

  3. braxton hicks can be painfull i have been having painfull ones and i measure 3 weeks bigger so its nothing to worry about

  4. I was told that braxton hiks should not be that painful. You might need to call ur midwife for a consult.. Just so you can relax...

  5. You may want to call your doctor because I've always been toold BH contractions aren't supposed to be painful.

  6. Well they'll be no harm taking a visit to the labour ward.

Go on, and all the best you for and new baby. God bless you, x*x

Hope you have a wonderful and safe labour.
