33 weeks pregnant an bowel movements question?

I'm 33 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and I go to the bathroom way more often then I ever did. I go at least 5-6 times per day. I do not feel it is diarrhea (don't feel sick and f***s are nomal), but I am wondering if my baby girl could be putting pressure on my intestines too?

Is this normal or should I talk about it with my doctor? I've heard of constipation when pregnant but read nowhere about more frequent bowel movements? other ladies, is this happening to you too? please!

Sorry if TMI.

  1. Happening to me but I have a diet high in fiber and I go 3 times a day 5-6 times I'd check with a dr. I think its great being that earlier on I was soooo constipated lol. I asked my dr and he said it is fine and I should be thankful lol.. I guess you should be too but pls double check to make sure! Good luck

  2. This absolutely happens and is normal (usually constipation, but the opposite happens too).  My wife went maybe 2 times a day and then baby came along and she too started going about 6 times or more per day.  Frequency increased throught the pregnancy.  As long as you are not being dehydrated, it doesn't sound like a problem.

Check your diet.  Junk in - Junk out.  Slowly change your diet and your bowel movements will also change.

  3. Don't worry unless you start having regular contractions, then call your doc asap.  Sometimes this is a sign of labor, but in your case I doubt it.  In all my pregnancies i went back and forth from constipation to loose movements until the last month when constipation just took over.

  4. I've heard (not personal experience) that some people a few weeks before there baby arrives they have increase in bowel movements... but as with pregnancy and labour this varies from person to person. But 5-6 times a day seems a bit much, maybe have a look at your diet, has it changed?? But if i was you id speak to my doctor to make sure all is ok

  5. Some women go through different hormonal changes than others..as long as you feel good and the movement is not thin and watery like diarrhea all the time...your body is just keeping itself cleaned out.
