33w5d, feeling sick to stomach and cramping. Normal pregnancy thing and not a sign of labor, right?

I am 33 weeks 5 days pregnant, and for the last couple of days I have had off-and-on cramping. It kind of feels like a mix of menstrual-like cramping and constipation cramping (which, by the way, I don't believe I am constipated). It's generally pretty mild, but it makes me feel a little yucky. When I have been out for walks or what not lately, I will also have random sharp pains that make me grab my stomach. It's not baby kicking, but I think those may just be her shifting in odd ways (She's 5 lbs already, so there's not much room left in there). I had a doctor's appointment the other day and I mentioned the cramping to the nurse, who kind of poo-pooed me and said it's probably just Braxton Hicks even though I told her there was no tightening (this is different from the Braxton Hicks that I have felt in the past). The doc did an ultrasound, but he didn't check me for anything else. I'm pretty sure this is probably just normal pregnancy stuff, but I wanted to be sure that these symptoms aren't a sign of preterm labor. So, what do you think? Experiences?

  1. It is normal to feel sick to your stomach in the last few weeks of pregnancy.

    I know I did!!

    Same with the cramping.

It is mainly from where your body is stretching and getting that baby of yours into position and out into this world of ours.

I walked also and I too got the sharp pains.

    Those are Braxton Hicks sweetie.

You uterus contracts and that is what you are feeling.

    I know it sucked!!

But in the end.. It was all worth it!!

Congrats on your baby and may all go well with you both!!

  2. Your doctor is probably right.  Braxton Hicks won't always feel the same, but menstrual like cramps is a sign of Braxton Hicks.  I get them periodically at 25 weeks, they're normal.  Don't worry.
