I am 34 weeks and woke up this am. Went to bathroom to pee, wiped and there was blood. Don't know why. Went to hospital, said they didnt know what was causing it. Said I was showing irratibility due to small like contractions. Gave me a shot of brethine and told me to go back on my procardia after the dr. told me to stop it. Told me to take it easy. They said sometimes you can bleed for any reason. They checked my cervix said I was still a fingertip thick. What does that mean? I was clueless. Maybe you all can help.

  1. I agree with Rhonda.

Try not to stress and put your feet up but go back to your doctor if it does persist and talk to your doctor or medical staff about any questions when you are there, we are all clueless until we ask hun so don't be afraid to ask.

Good luck with your baby. My daughter is due in 4 weeks!

  2. Honestly it could be anything. Even over-exterting yourself can cause bleeding, along with s*x. If there was just a small amount of blood I would not worry. When and if you eventually lose your mucus plug, there will be blood too but that is normal.

  3. finger tip thick is good. Means your are not dilating. I bleed at about 25 weeks due to a cervical infection. They would not have sent you home if they were concerned, so I am sure you are ok.
