Im 34 weeks and 6 days pregnant and last night i started having lower back pain. It is a constant dull pain that gets really bad at certain times. I've tried laying in different positions and walking but it doesn't let up not even tylenol has helped. Also for the past two weeks i've had loose stools (don't know if this has any relation) I am just wondering what this could be and should i be concerned.

This is my first pregnancy

  1. Back pain is common in late pregnancy. If the baby has dropped(your not carrying the baby as high in your belly) and you have more pressure in you pelvic area then you might be in the start of labor. I would just call the Dr and ask if I they could have a quick look. But if you are in the start of labor that doesn't mean you will have the baby like now. My cousin was in labor for around 3 days. Hope this helped you.

  2. I am 35 weeks and i get that pain! My doctor said i get it when i have done to much! I would say recline yourself, try Tylenol, and relax, and have your hubby give you a nice rub! Good Luck

  3. Lower back pain is a common discomfort as you get farther along in your pregnancy, mostly because you are carrying all the extra weight of an infant in the front of your body!  Have you tried ice or heat to the pain? It might help.  Here is a website you can go to that has tips for relieving the back pain that comes with pregnancy.  http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pregnan...

The loose stools? Not sure if it's related, you would probably need to ask your doctor about that.

  4. First I want to let you know that I have five children, so this answer is from my personal experience. For me labor always began as back pain and three of my children were born between 34 and 35 weeks. If I were you I'd go see my doctor.

It also could just be back pain from carrying around the extra weight but it never hurts to be cautious.

    Good Luck and Congratulations!
