343 Industries confident about Halo 4 Visuals – Video Games Update
In an interview with Official Xbox Magazine (OXM), 343 Industries (343i) has commented on the visuals of Halo 4 and how much of an impact next generation games will have on it.
Scott Warner, the lead game designer for Halo 4 at 343i, has stated that Microsoft’s next installment in its flagship Halo series will be no slouch when it comes to visuals and he believes that the game will be able to hold its own against many upcoming
next generation titles.
Many believe that Halo 4 will be the last Halo game for the Xbox 360 and Microsoft is putting all of its resources in creating an ‘epic’ experience which will leave fans hungry for the next installment. Warner believes that the team at 343i has squeezed
every last drop of power from the Xbox 360 while creating Halo 4 and the game will be one of the best looking shooters this generation and probably the best looking game on the Xbox 360 since everything is being specifically tailored for the console.
“Our current development is all centred around the Xbox 360 and trying to harness everything we can get out of that box, so everything you're seeing is sort of custom built for the 360 experience. Obviously depending on what happens and develops with our
company, we'll try to develop our technology and take advantage of it,” stated Warner.
Warner also went on to say that because of being a first party developer and publisher, 343i will have a significant lead on its rivals when it comes to Halo 5, which will likely be a next generation title. However before that happens Microsoft must ensure
that Halo 4, which is the first Halo shooter with the original developer Bungie not at the helm, is successful so it can drive the demand for the sequel Halo 5.
Halo 4 might boast awesome visuals with very high production values but it doesn’t change the fact that Microsoft has got its work cut out for them this fall as there will be lot of competition on release for their flagship shooter. The biggest contender
being the widely successful Call of Duty game, Black Ops 2, which is being released just a week after Halo 4 hits store shelves.
