343i answers fan questions – Video Games Update
343 Industries (343i), the developer for Halo 4, has answered many fan questions regarding the upcoming new Halo Saga.
In a Q&A session at ExpertZone, 343i has revealed many new details about the upcoming game. The developer has denied the possibility of a public beta stating that the game is being tested internally at 343i.
In an answer to a question, 343i acknowledged that the Forge mode is in the game and fans should wait a little longer as the reveal is coming. Many gamers are wondering about the new additions that Halo 4’s Forge will have over Halo Reach’s Forge mode.
343i addressed one of the fan fears about Halo 4’s ending by claiming that it will provide closure to the game and it will not be a cliff-hanger like the Halo 2 ending. Fans can rest assured as 343i is aiming for a complete game that can stand on its own
without relying on potential sequels.
The news regarding the omission of Firefight mode comes as a shock to many gamers but 343i has stated that the new Spartan Ops Co-op mode is somewhat a similar experience. Fans are hoping that the Firefight mode will be released later as downloadable content
if it doesn’t make it into the game at launch.
343i seems to be really serious about sticking to the story fiction as they have stated that there will be no Co-op in the single player campaign because it wouldn’t make sense to have someone else work alongside the game’s main protagonist, Master Chief
John 117.
Fans will have to turn to the Spartan Ops campaign for the Co-op. 343i compared Spartan Ops with Firefight by saying, “Spartan Ops is different, but feels similar socially and in terms of the online cooperation and intrinsic competition.”
343i also explains how it must be hard for new comers to the series to get into the game but states that even though Halo 4 follows the cannon story of the novels, fans will not feel the need to look up the back story in order to enjoy and understand the
plot of Halo 4.
Furthermore, 343i revealed that the game is full of goodies and Easter eggs for hardcore fans that are willing to search for them. There is also no legendary Edition of Halo 4 in the works right now. The game comes out on November 6, 2012 exclusively on
the Xbox 360.
