for the past 3 days ive had terrible backache and its constant and wont go away. when i stand up it hurts so much and when i am sitting its this constant dull ache...is this nomal or is it sign of labour coming on?

i also have headache and have had a couple of painful stomach things (think are braxnton hicks) over the last ocuple of days but htey arn't regular - i hav like 4 a day and they are quite painful - exactly like period pains!

is this all normal at 35 wks or am i maybe going into labour?

  1. your body is expanding for the iminent birth. it's perfectly normal, ok? your baby is getting heavier and heavier and your back is a different shape these days. i remember i could hardly walk some days. couldn't even sleep because of the ache. get in the bath and get dad to give you a massage. that helped me

  2. im almost 35 weeks and i also feel the same pain...sometimes i woke up in the middle of the night having contractions but they also ease down..im getting a lot of BHicks for ages...i mean so many as in 8 per hour but when the doctor checked me im not even dilated...so i guess its just that our body playing tricks on us...and backache is also killing me...

just try to tell your doctor those things so they can check for dilation etc. and get enough rest and water...

  3. im on my 2nd pregnancy and i have a back problem - a birth defect so i've always got back pain but comes and goes when bub is moving around. i'm 26 weeks and have had braxton hicks for a few weeks now. headaches for me are normal...

braxton hicks are practice contractions and always vary in length. labour pains are pretty much the same as period pains but become more regular and stronger with each one.

if you're not sure ring your healthcare provider.
