Question:

35 weeks 3 days and labor?

I'm 35 weeks and 3 days. On Monday I was already 2cm and 50% thinned and having contractions. I went to the doctor yesterday and and nothing has changed. My contractions are 20-30 mins apart and I'm very uncomfy. Is there anything I can do to hurry up and speed this process along? My doctor said that my baby will be small when he is born but he looks good and is healthy and is not worried about him being born early. So please any advice that would help me out here.

  1. GO TO THE HOSPITAL RIGHT AWAY!

  2. Walk and have s*x, good luck to you

  3. Walk walk walk. Having s*x actually helps too.

  4. well i would say that while you can or have had children at 35 weeks that came out perfect you shouldn't try to hurry this along. let it progress naturally, its a lot more understandable having someone at 37 weeks ask what natural ways are sucessful at moving things along quicker than 35. left to its own devices its possible things could calm down and you could go another few days without full blown labor. that would be a good thing. not saying the baby wouldn't be fine now, i'm sure it would be, but even an extra few days could do a lot for the baby's health and development.

    good luck and congratulations!

  5. you really should go to the hospital. the good thing is, at 35 weeks (if you really are in labor) they will stop it so your little one won't be born even if you want it to. he really needs to cook some more, 35 weeks is a little early! sorry!

  6. walk around and have s*x

  7. Why the rusk tp speed things up? Most Dr's do not want you to go before 36 weeks at the earliest. Your baby will be snall because he is going to be a little premature. Bigger babies are healthier and will fare much better than trying to rush out a small one.

  8. Why on Earth would you want to speed things up at 35 weeks?  That is not full term, and your doctor must not know that a pregnancy is 40 weeks, not 35.  I'd find a new doctor!

Although the risk is not great, there is a chance that the baby's lungs are not fully developed (they usually aren't until 37-38 weeks).  The baby would have a lower birth weight and there are 100 other reasons I can think of that you should not be speeding anything up at 35 weeks.  If you made it this far, you will live for the last 5 weeks.

** As I re-read your question, I am still in amazement that even after you were told the baby would be small, you are on here asking how to speed it up instead of trying to keep from going into labor.  Do you want your child to be born premature?  I assume you realize 35 weeks IS premature, yet you want that to happen?  Amazing, simply amazing, nothing like doing whats best for the baby, I mean, geez, with you being so uncomfortable and all.
