  1. By 35 weeks the baby is pressing down on all of your organs, including your lungs, making it much harder to breathe normally.  In addition, you might be feeling anxious about the upcoming birth, which can make it difficult to breathe.

Do you have allergies?   Allergies can be aggravated by pregnancy which could be making it harder for you to breathe.

Personally, I had late pregnancy anxiety that made me feel breathless. I remember feeling claustrophobic in my own skin.  If this is the case, your doctor can give you medicine to help you relax.

Late pregnancy is very uncomfortable and I really feel for you.  Please see your doctor if your breathing doesn't get better.

  2. phone you DR now, you could have a chest infection, or even worse pneumonia (don't know if i spelt it right) i had it when i was pregnant with my middle child good luck.

  3. okay get on the phone wIth your doctor and take deep breaths. and drInk lIttle sIps of Ice cold water. stay calm and get your husband.

  4. It's probably a big baby!!  Has your doc given you an estimated weight?  I felt that way with my oldest son, and he was a BIG baby!!  He was extra cramped in there, so I had a lot of trouble breathing.  My other two were smaller and I didn't have that experience with them.

The good news is that the baby should drop soon, and that will give you a *little* more breathing room!

  5. Ah.

I had this from 33 weeks till I delivered.  Your baby is pushing on your lungs/rib region. That's why you are having troubles breathing properly and the awful heartburn/indigestion is from eating food and the baby pushing on your organs.  It causes it.

Try to take some Tums.  It worked like a charm for me.  Hopefully you don't get sick at the tail end.  My son was pushing so hard on my organs that I kept throwing up at the end.  Good luck to you dear!

  6. I hear ya girl,I am 36 weeks and experiencing the same thing!!

  7. your baby could have just shifted to where your oxygen flow is slightly cut off. just relax and she will move again soon. dont lay on your back, it makes it worse:)

  8. if it is heartburn or indigestion you will feel a burning inside of your throat, go get some tums or rolaids, the new ones they come out with are better chewy something. It shouldn't make it hard for you to breathe though. If it doesn't get better I would call the Doctor.

  9. I don't know what it is, but you need to call your doctor immediately!  That sounds really serious, and you don't want to cut oxygen off to the baby or yourself!

  10. Baby has probably just shifted, making all of your organs shift and squishing them just a little bit more, making it harder to breathe.  Lay on your left hand side to maintain good oxygen for the baby (prevents the umbilical cord from being compressed).  Call your doctor if you feel like somethings wrong.  Woman's intuition is rarely wrong.

  11. could be baby in a certain posititon..or possibly an anxiety attack! call your doctor, thats what their there for! no question is a bad one! So don't be worried about waking them for nothing. or go to the er if it continues!!

  12. Baby is MOST likely in a certain position making it hard for to to breathe.. im almost always feeling like that especially when laying down on my back..and i panick and have to get up real quick.

  13. Don't worry to much i have the same problem especially when i try and sleep or i can just be sitting up and i get to where im sitting there taking deep breaths. It lasts for a little bit but then it goes away its where theres not much room in you anymore because of the baby and it makes it harder to breath especially if the baby is up high it can make it really hard to breath. The little one will shift in a little bit and you will find yourself being able to breath better.  You could have indigestion with it i do. So i just take me some tums. Good luck. Oh and does it feel like someone is sitting on your chest? Because i have that feeling also when i feel like i can't breath very well.

  14. Better be safe than sorry. I would head over to the OB triage area where you plan to have your baby. That way they can make sure you and the baby are getting enough oxygen. If you aren't getting enough, then the baby definitely isn't and you don't want to increase the potential of your baby developing complications (i.e. brain damage). It's probably nothing but I would never take a chance on my child if I didn't feel right. Good luck and have a wonderful time being a new mommy.
