35 weeks pregnant and having aching pain in top of my stomach.?

I am 35 weeks pregnant with my 4th child and I have been having this pain in the top upper right side of my stomach. It feels like my muscles are being pulled or stretched from the weight of the baby. It's almost like they are being torn or something, at least that is what it feels like! It feels better when I sit or lay down but it is really uncomfortable when I get up and walk around. I have to support my stomach at the bottom with my hands just so I can walk around without it hurting. Has this ever happened to anyone else? This has never happened with my other pregnancies and I don't know what to do about it.

  1. I am also 35 weeks pregnant with my 4th child, but the only time I have pain in the top right hand side of my belly is when I eat too much or something. I think that is where your stomach is, but what you're describing sounds more muscular. Has it been going on for a while? You could have pulled a muscle. I am having a persistant pain in my lower left hand side and I think I pulled something lifting my other kids and/or carrying things up the stairs to my 3rd floor apartment. Anyway, if it is that bad, I would definitely ask your doctor about it. Maybe you can try wearing one of those belly support things. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and your new baby.

  2. I am 35 weeks pregnant and having the same issue. I go to see the doctor tomorrow. Is your baby very active? Sometimes that can cause you to be sore. You should call and ask you doctor if they should see you. They sell support bands at babies'r'us.

I hope you feel better because I cant wait to not have the pain anymore!

  3. OMG thanks for asking; I have the same thing in the same spot! It's the burning/tearing feeling that makes me wonder if I tore.  FYI-I've been using the belly support bands and they don't help with this pain...they work great for backaches and posture though.

We should all call the doctor, just in case. (I hope it's something like a pulled muscle that will go away, cause I am only 26 weeks.)

    Good Luck, you're almost there!!

  4. I'm getting this with my 4th pregnancy, too... Never had it with the 1st or 2nd, but it happened the last two months, with my 3rd... It was HORRIBLE! I described it as almost a burning, or stabbing/ripping, although your description about covers it, too. :) No idea what it was, but the doc acted as if it was normal. It went away after she was born, but, I'm sorry to say, I was miserable throughout the last 2 months of my pregnancy, cause I couldn't even sleep! This time, it comes and goes, but, with my third, it was constant... Good luck!!

P.S. I tried everything, and nothing worked.
