36, 37, or 38 weeks?

which one is considered full term? my doctor told me i was full term at 36, but i here so many different weeks. which one is right?

  1. i've always believed you are considered full term at 37 weeks


  2. Most medical books and doctors state that full term starts at 37 weeks.

  4. I think it depends on where you live (which country) and who you are seeing in terms of medical care.

    I am in Australia, seeing an obstetrician and he says that full term is 38-41 weeks. Most Ob's wont let you go much past 41 weeks here for baby's safety.


  5. I've heard full term can be anywhere from 38-42 weeks.  I've never heard 36 weeks as full term
