When we turn the tv on, either it comes on right away and goes to the problem shortly afterwards or immediately the problem occurs when the TV is turned on (after it's been off for a while). The screen starts out black, and can hear the sound, then a thin white line across the screen appears, then it starts growing above and below until it finally fills the entire screen. I can make it appear full sized if I lightly tap the TV on the side though.Question 1: Is it bad to be tapping the TV on the side, where more damage than good will come of it, and just let the picture slowly get to full-sized?Question 2: Should we get it repaired now, or wait until it progressively gets worse? It only happens once each time when we turn the tv on, or a few minutes later, and then it's fine after that. In other words, is it worth spending a few hundred $ on this right now, or wait until it gets worse, and how much worse can it get?
